Our Story

This is the story of how Flex Juice was founded in 2023.

About the Founder

Hi, I’m Ryan. I grew up in southern California. I’m a fitness enthusiast who grew up playing sports like hockey, soccer, baseball and basketball. I studied communication at UC Santa Barbara and wanted to work in marketing, but always had the dream of doing something bigger.

My fitness journey got more serious during college where I cemented a 5 day a week gym routine and rode my bike daily. One thing I was struggling with was hitting my daily protein intake. I found myself repeatedly skipping my protein shakes because I was simply tired of thick, milky drinks and they were the last thing I wanted to drink after a hard workout.

One day in 2022 I set out to solve this problem by creating a light and refreshing juice-flavored option! I never quite understood why practically every protein powder had to be chocolate or vanilla. My goal was and still is to show everybody that Protein is better as juice.

 

The Process

I got to work with a ton of research on how this process would all work. I had to research how to form a business, where I would sell the product, market it, not to mention develop the actual product itself. It was quite overwhelming figuring it all out on my own, but I was determined so I put together as much of my money as I could and set out on the journey in July 2022.

Most of the work ended up revolving around the development of the flavor itself. Flex Juice needed to be refreshing and delicious. This was a slow process over the course of a number of months to really dial in the taste. I cannot thank my wonderful friends and family enough for being there to help me with this process.

I have to give a special shoutout to Cosmo the cat for his expertise and oversight. His consistent support was invaluable to turning my endeavors into the completed project it is today.

The Launch!

Finally after 14 months of putting everything together, the real journey set out in August 2023 with the launch of Flex Juice! The feedback so far has been incredible and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to share a juice-flavored protein powder with you all. I hope you love it!
